Welcome to the website of Sakaramenta. Sakaramenta is a social business based in Malawi producing push and bicyle carts. Getting things from A to B is not always easy in Malawi. The weather, shortage of fuel and quality of roads make carrying goods and people a though job. Sakaramenta takes the challenge to solve these problems. (See video)

NEW: Black Bull push cart

The Black Bull push cart is a new cart developed by Sakaramenta. It has a strong basic frame which can carry 150 kg.  The customer can choose which box  or drum he wants to fit on this Black Bull frame. We offer different boxes and drums, like transport boxes, shop boxes, children bus boxes and complete drums. You can attach the boxes and drums easily on the frame of the cart, so you are able to transport and sell many different good with this Black Bull push cart.  You can even couple it behind the bicycle. Some examples of what you can transport on your Black Bull :

8 crates of drinks, 4 small children, 3 bags of maize, bale of cotton or tobacco, 6 x 25l of water.

About our Carts

CareCar Bicycle Ambulance
The average distance to health centres in Malawi in the rural areas is 15 km. Pregnant women and patients often have to walk because there is no transport. Sakaramenta has build for these situations the CareCar. A strong bicycle ambulance  to get people in a fast and safe way to the health centres. The CareCar is especially adapted to the rural areas. With the CareCar you can realy improve the access to the health centres.

TengaCar 120
The TengaCar 120 is a push and bicycle cart to transport goods up to 120 kilogram. You can easily push the cart because it is completely balanced. With our universal coupling you can even couple it behind any bicycle.
Exactly four crates fit on the cart, so you can pile up to eight crates. The TengaCar 120 is light and strong which makes it perfect for cycling.

TengaCar 250
This cart solves the post-harvest transport problems; to transport crops form the fields to the market is hard and expensive. And to bring products from the market to the village is a long way.  Sakaramenta created the TengaCar 250. A heavy duty handcart, which can carry up to 250 kilogram. The strong wheels and durable box make this cart ideal for tranporting heavy loads to and from the fiels and the market.

ShopCar
The ShopCar is a new product in Malawi. It is a shop on wheels. With this cart you can transport, display and sell your products in a perfect way. The ShopCar is a real "eye catcher". You just go where your customers go. During lunch brakes you go to the companies, with a football match you go to the stadium and park your ShopCar to sell your goods.

MadziCar
The MadziCar is a push cart to transport up to 230 liters of water. The strong wheels and the long handle make the MadziCar easy to push. The MadziCar can be used for irrigation purposes or to transport and sell water. In close collaboration with international NGO's, Sakaramenta desinged this cart to empower women. From a medical point of view it is much better to push 230 liters of water then carrying 40 liters on your head.

Custom Made Carts
We developed many diffe custom made carts for our customers; like carts  to transport milk cans, cool boxes, advertisement boards, garbage and many more. Our experienced staff is able to make any kind of push and bicycle cart you want. You can come to our workshop, discuss with us what you want, we design it for you, and adjust it where necessary.

How to get our carts?
Blantyre
The Sakaramenta workshop is based in Blantyre. In our showroom you can find all our models and we can discuss about a custom made cart of your choice. Our workshop is based at Michiru Road, follow the signpost from Seventh Day Adventist Hospital in Blantyre.
 
Lilongwe
- At Bioclinical Partners in Lilongwe you can find our CareCar Bicycle Ambulance. Bioclinical Partners is based in the old town opposite the Standard Bank.

- At the Farmersworld shops in Lilongwe you order all our bicycle and push cart except the CareCar Bicycle Ambulance. There are 5 Farmersworld situated in Lilongwe.

Ntcheu
The Agora shop sells all our carts except the CareCar bicycle ambulance. 

Mzuzu
Bioclinical Partners sells our CareCar bicycle ambulance.

All over Malawi
From our workshop we deliver to all the big towns in the 28 districts in Malawi.

If you can't afford to buy a cart at once you can get a microloan at Malawi Rural Finance Company (MRFC). There are more then 100 offices in Malawi where they can provide microloans for Sakaramenta carts. Of course you need a good business plan and to sign an agreement to pay back your loan to your nearest MRFC-officer on weekly basis.
